“When we first signed my son up for guitar lessons, I wanted him to have something he could enjoy, take pride in, and hopefully develop a lifelong love for. Since starting lessons with Kyle, he’s exceeded every expectation I had.

Kyle has a genuine gift for teaching. His patience, encouragement, and ability to connect with him have made such a difference. Every Tuesday, He looks forward to his lesson, and I’m continually impressed by how much he’s learning and how excited he is to practice.

Seeing him confidently walk up and perform at his first recital was an incredible moment for us as parents. To see how far he’s come in just a few months speaks volumes about the time and effort Kyle puts into his students.

As a parent, you always hope to find people who recognize your child’s potential and help bring it out. Kyle has done exactly that for my son. We’re incredibly grateful for the confidence he’s helped build and the love of music he’s helping my son develop.

I’d recommend Kyle to any parent looking for a talented, patient, and genuinely invested guitar instructor.”

“Thank you for teaching my son proper sheet music and real notes, not just chords. His last instructor was good but he didn't teach him how to really read music and just played chords. Saw tonight you have a passion for them learning how to actually play properly. I saw last time at the recital that all of your students were much more advanced than his students were. Hopefully my son gets better under your tutelage and you teaching properly how to read music and play notes and not just chords, thank you! Could really see your passion for every student and I'm glad you are his new teacher

Never played guitar and I know chords have their place and most bands play them but him not learning to read music properly under his last teacher bothered me”

“Coming into guitar lessons with Kyle, I was self taught for four years and had decided that I wanted to grow in sight reading, chord structures, and my general understanding of acoustic guitar. Kyle worked with me on sight reading sheet music, chord inversions, right hand finger patterns, major scales, and even a performance piece for my high school graduation. I was able to use two pieces we worked on for my college audition and would not have been accepted into the music program without Kyle's help. I have been blessed to receive such encouraging coaching from him and to have grown so much. “

“My 15 year old son has experienced a small group of guitar teachers over his 10 year music career. He started out on the ukelele and quickly transitioned into an electric guitar because the acoustic was too big to wrap his body around. When we met Kyle, we realized we were not getting the Suzuki method of music. Playing the right notes was much different than Kyle's attention to music theory. Kyle has introduced a much more complex understanding of music that allows our son to explore a variety of composers from different backgrounds. While our son loves the complexities of playing riffs by Adam Jones of Tool, he has chosen guitar versions of John Coltrane ("Giant Steps, 26-2"). My wife and I are floored by Kyle's ability to take into account how much our son wants to be challenged by the choice of music.”

“When I began guitar lessons many years ago, I would ask my previous teacher to show me how to play a song I selected.  His style was chord-melody and he would write out the song for me.  I learned some songs that way, but I didn't really know why I was playing certain notes or chords.

Five years ago, I began taking lessons from Kyle and basically started out as a beginner. I told him I was not very good at rhythms, but he was patient and "clapped" me through the hardest ones. I learned some new songs and some jazz standards that I never heard of.  We worked through triads, the seven series of chords, and scales. We had many in-depth discussions about what we were working on and music in general.

The best part of taking lessons from Kyle is that now I know why I'm playing what I'm playing.  He's a master of the guitar and an expert at music theory.”

"I began my guitar lessons with Kyle when I decided I wanted to go to college for music production. I had been learning from the internet for years, but I wanted to learn how to read sheet music and better find my way around the fretboard. Kyle got me reading sheet music in a few short weeks, and eventually, I learned how to improvise all over the neck by outlining triads and seventh chords. After only a few short months, I passed my audition for college using the skills I developed with Kyle and even got a scholarship for my performance."

“Our 8-year-old daughter has been taking guitar lessons with Kyle for the past six months, and we couldn't be happier with her experience! Kyle is incredibly patient, kind, knowledgeable, and truly has a gift for teaching. His new “Guitar Lab” format has been a wonderful experience, providing students with more time for practice and individualized instruction while learning alongside other students in a fun, motivating environment. We also appreciate the time and effort Kyle is putting into developing his own curriculum to enhance the learning experience. Most importantly, she absolutely LOVES playing guitar and looks forward to every lesson! We are so thankful for Kyle and the passion he brings to teaching his students. We highly recommend him!”

“When our son was seven, he began to talk about wanting to play the guitar. We bought him his first acoustic guitar and signed him up for lessons with Kyle. Kyle was patient and encouraging as he began to learn how to play. As with many young kids, he didn’t practice between lessons as much as we would have liked, but he stuck with it and continued to make progress as Kyle helped him build a solid foundation of reading music and playing. As he got older, he expressed interest in an electric guitar. Once we got him one, everything changed. He took everything he had learned to that point and just fell in love with playing. Now, he has performed in 5 recitals over the past few years with Kyle. He joined his middle school jazz band and successfully auditioned for his school’s advanced Modern Band. He writes his own music and plays all the time. He even insisted on taking his guitar with him on vacation. Kyle has played a large part in our son’s journey as a developing musician, and we would enthusiastically recommend him as a great instructor!”

“Kyle is an incredible guitar teacher whose unending patience and ongoing encouragement helped our son gain confidence in his own guitar playing. Watching him learn to play chords and melodies in these last two years has been such a joy, and we are so grateful to Kyle for helping our son discover his love for music!”
